Gold Gilding a Rare Jowet Wagon: A Family Tradition
16/05/2016

We have been privileged enough to be allowed to document the full painting process of a brand new rare “Jowet” Living Wagon or Vardo.

Once the wagon is completed we will be showing images of the full process.

This is something we are really excited about as Gypsy people begin to reclaim their heritage they are either renovating old wagons or ordering new ones in old and ornate styles.

We also have the opportunity to document a restoration of a wagon built again by “jowet”

The current owner saw his “dads old wagon” up for sale in a museum auction and set about owning it.

Its currently being returned to its former glory.and we have been promised images that document it.

here we have a few images we have been given permission to show of the new wagon being gold gilted by the owners 4 year old daughter.

That’s real 24 Caret Gold that the 4 year old is brushing onto her dads wagon, under the expert guidance of the trained “gilter”
