This is commissioned work
PGT is a small, independent Community Interest Company. The expertise, relationships and community knowledge we bring have been built over many years and must be properly resourced.
We are happy to have an initial conversation about your idea, but research, engagement, training, policy work, facilitation, welfare reporting, consultancy and project delivery are paid or commissioned pieces of work.
We do not provide unpaid consultancy, free community access or community endorsement for projects that have not budgeted for meaningful involvement.
If community expertise is essential to the work, it should be valued in the budget as well as in the language of the project.
Meaningful means real
People remember being researched without seeing the results, consulted after decisions were made and invited to share difficult experiences without anything changing.
PGT will not reproduce that model.
Meaningful involvement means there is something real to influence. It means community knowledge can affect the questions, the design, the interpretation, the recommendations and what happens next.
It also means being honest about limits. If a decision cannot change, say so. If the budget is fixed, say so. If you only need a Gypsy or Traveller name, logo or quote to validate work that is already finished, PGT is unlikely to be the right partner.

Trusted conversations, community engagement and support to understand barriers within services and decision-making.
Heritage & creative work
Oral history, archives, exhibitions, publications, storytelling, workshops and community-led creative development.
Bring us in early
The best time to involve PGT is before the questions, budget, timetable and outcomes are fixed.
- Build community involvement into the budget from the start.
- Be clear about what decisions are still open.
- Resource community members fairly where their time and expertise are being used.
- Agree consent, ownership, publication and confidentiality arrangements.
- Return findings to the people who contributed.
- Be prepared to act on what the work reveals.
If our involvement cannot influence the work, it is not meaningful involvement.
Paid fairly, independent enough to speak honestly
PGT is asset-locked. Income from commissioned work supports our community purpose and helps us remain independent.
Being paid for professional work does not buy agreement. Commissioners are paying for our time, expertise and delivery—not for a predetermined conclusion or a comfortable version of community evidence.
We accept work where there is a genuine purpose, appropriate resource and a realistic opportunity to make a difference.
