We will be honest about whether PGT is the right organisation to help, what we can realistically offer and what the next step should be.

If you need community support

You do not need to write a formal account or understand professional language. Tell us what has happened in your own words.

It is helpful to include what the problem is, which organisation is involved, whether anybody is already supporting you, any important dates or deadlines, and the best way for us to contact you.

If you have a relevant letter, decision or email, you can send a clear photograph or copy. Please contact us before sending detailed medical records, court papers or other highly sensitive personal information.

If your concern is about planning, an appeal, enforcement or a formal welfare report, please also tell us where the land is, what stage the case has reached and whether a planning agent or solicitor is already involved.

If you want to commission PGT

Please tell us what you want to achieve, who the work will affect, what stage the project has reached, what you would like PGT to deliver, the proposed timescale and the available budget.

It is also useful to know what decisions are still open to influence. If the work has already been fully designed, say so—we would rather have an honest conversation about whether meaningful involvement is still possible.

Research, training, facilitation, policy work, welfare reporting, consultancy, heritage work and project delivery are commissioned professional services.

Important to know before contacting us

PGT is a small independent organisation and responses may not always be immediate. We cannot accept every request for support or every project.

We are not an emergency service and we do not provide regulated legal advice. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services or the appropriate urgent service.

If there is a court date, appeal deadline, enforcement date, school deadline or risk of immediate action, put that clearly at the top of your message.

Where another organisation or professional is better placed to help, we will try to explain that honestly rather than keep somebody waiting unnecessarily.

Private messages and social media

Gypsy and Traveller community members can also contact PGT privately through our social-media channels. Please do not put personal, medical, legal or safeguarding information into a public comment.
